3 Reasons Why Clients Aren't Booking In With You
Is your booking calendar looking empty and lonely? Has it been a few hours, a few days or even a few weeks since you had a good run of clients? You're probably wondering why clients aren't booking in with you.
I come across health practitioners that struggle with this all the time. In 95% of cases, the problem lies in one (or more) of these three areas.
Why you're not booked out and your dream clients are MIA
Clients aren't booking in with you because you’re trying to talk to everyone
I hate to bring this up again. But I'm still seeing it with a bunch of peeps, so I'm going to reiterate for the thousandth time:
If you try to sell services to everyone, you'll end up talking to no one.
Why?
Because no one wants to see the general practitioner of wellness.
People want to work with the person who gets what is going on with them specifically and has the know-how to help them.
They want the health expert that can help them achieve their goals.
But when you list every damn possible health condition that your modality could potentially help with?
Snooooze.
Close tab. Onto the next practitioner, keep searching for the right one.
This just comes down to a big fat fear that no one will come and see you. I hate to get tough love on you - but if you're reading this, that's already the case.
So what do you have to lose? Pick a niche you enjoy, market to that niche, and stick with it for at least 3 months.
Clients aren't booking in with you because you’re nowhere to be seen
When was the last time that you booked in a personal service with someone that you've never seen, never heard from, or never seen their face?
Nope? Not something you've done recently?
Then you can't really expect clients to do the same.
Showing up in any way shape or form is the only way to build trust with potential clients.
If you're still hiding behind your laptop and not being out about what you do and what you have to offer, you're practically pushing clients away.
Let's start with a simple checklist:
Do you have a picture of yourself as a profile pic on your business page?
Is there at least 2 photos of you on your website?
Can other people see on your personal profile what your business is?
Have you put out an offer on social media over the past 14 days?
Have you stated what your niche or area of work is on your website and social media?
If you answered no to any of these things, you're nowhere to be seen. If you are ticking those boxes, it's a good start. But you also want to make sure you're still showing up consistently via Facebook lives, blogs, emails - whatever content floats your boat.
Which brings me to my next point.
Clients aren't booking in with you because you’re not sticking with anything
Does this sound familiar?
You did 3 Facebook lives, but you didn't get clients, so you gave up on that
Then you heard everyone was hanging out on Instagram, so you posted daily for a fortnight
Suddenly Pinterest is the hot new thing in your circle of biz friends, so you jump on Canva and curate pins for 3 days straight
Actually someone in a group said that the social media algorithms are terrible, so you're jumping on board with email marketing
Online is dead altogether, so you join a paid networking group, but it feels slimy so you call in sick for the next meeting
Notice a pattern here?
There is no consistency in what you're doing.
I'll let you in on a little secret here.
Those 50 different strategies that successful business owners swear were their key to success?
Every single one of them is telling the truth.
The magic isn't in the strategy. The magic is in their ability to stick to that strategy over a long period of time.
So let's make this really simple.
Pick a strategy that feels comfortable for you. Then stick to it for a minimum of 3 months before you try something else.
Seems too easy? Marketing is all about consistency - in your visibility, your message, and your offers.
